SOUTH MOUNTAIN PARK
South Mountain Park in Phoenix AZ is located just a few miles south of down town Phoenix on Central Avenue. It is the largest municipal park in the United States at a little over 17,000 acres. There are many hiking trails in the park and only one road that can take you from one end of the park to the other. There is a road that will take you to the top of the mountain in the middle of the park for fabulous views of the surrounding cities (Be sure to check the views at night). There are picnic ramadas, ridng stables and several parking lots that offer rewarding over views of the area.
